Factory Setup Guide

Factory Setup Guide

Welcome to the Garment IO Platform! This guide will walk you through the initial steps required to set up your factory on our platform. Please follow the steps below to get started.

Step 1: Logging into the System

Once a Garment IO representative has created your company account and shared the factory-specific URL with you, you will receive your system admin or project manager credentials (email and password). Use these to log into the Garment IO system.

Step 2: Adding Production Lines and Sections

The first task after logging in is to add your production lines and sections.

What are Production Lines and Sections?

  1. Production Line: A series of processes designed to produce a completed item of clothing.
  2. Production Sections: Subdivisions within a line, each responsible for different stages of production.
For example, a pants production line may include sections such as preparation, pants front, pants back, and assembly.
Shared Lines
Factories may have multiple lines for different style categories (e.g., shirts, blouses, dresses) with a shared final production line like ironing. Set up each category as a separate line and also set up the shared final line and mark it as final
You can check this link for more info on how to add lines and sections

Step 3: Utilizing Section Tags

Section tags simplify the selection of lines and sections, especially useful for factories with multiple lines.

How to Add Tags to Sections?

  1. Go to Section Tags and add a new tag.
  2. Navigate to the Production Lines page, find the section you want to tag, and add the tag next to it.
  3. This allows users to select tagged lines with a single click in the line selector instead of having to select each line alone (more clicks!)

Step 4: Setting Up Roles

Garment IO offers standard roles with predefined permissions named "Standard Roles" in the roles page.
However, the system offers to users to make their own roles, named "Company Roles"

You can check this link for more information on how to manage roles in our system

Step 5: Adding Users

How to Add Users?

  1. Click on the Add button.
  2. Enter the user's first name, last name, and email.
  3. Create a password for the user.
  4. Assign the appropriate role(s) to the user. Each user must have at least one primary role.
  5. Define the scope for the user, whether it's access to all factory data or just specific lines or sections.
  6. Save the user profile.

For more information on how to add users to the system, check this link

Step 6: Associating RFID Tags with Users

RFID tags provide a quick login method for certain users, like quality supervisors or maintenance personnel, due to the fact that they are already using Garment IO devices and tablets that are equipped with RFID readers
Maintenance Supervisors must have RFID cards associated to them because they must scan their card on Garment IO device when inspecting machine breakdowns. See this link for more info.

You can check this link for more info on how to assign RFID tags to users

Step 7: User Notification Settings

Users can customize their notification settings based on their role and preferences.
For more details on customizing notification settings, please refer to the article Notification Settings in Garment IO.

Once all the relevant users have been registered, they must input all the essential data needed for the system to begin functioning.
