Accurate quality defect tracking starts one step before production: defining which parts of the style need to be monitored. This update puts that step where it belongs, inside the system.
Zones | Linking Style Sections to Production Stages and Quality Inspection
Quality inspection was happening without a clear record of which part of the style each defect belonged to, making it harder than it should be to trace where problems were coming from.
That changes now.
The Zones feature lets you define the sections of a style — such as collar, shoulder, sleeve, side, and front body — and link each zone to the stages that produce it, then map every zone onto the style image on the quality tablet. The result: the quality worker opens the image in front of them, selects the zone where the defect was found, and records it directly.
Setup happens in two stages: first in the style category, then in the style itself.
Important Notes
You can add zones to a style category whether it's new or already exists. For styles created before the Zones feature was added, you can use custom zones from the styles page.
New styles created after this feature is added will automatically rely on the zones defined within the style category if they are available.
On the style page, you can create a model image using AI based on its stages. This step is required to start using the zones feature, and you will not be able to use it without completing it.
How It Works
Stage 1: Style Categories
After creating the stages within a style category, go to the Zones section and add the style's sections based on its type.
Example for a t-shirt: Collar zone - Shoulder zone - Sleeve zone - Side zone - Front body zone.
Creating zones in style categories pageOnce the zones are created, link each stage to the zone it belongs to. Example: "Collar preparation" and "Collar attachment" are linked to the Collar zone. "Side seam" is linked to the Side zone. Repeat for all remaining stages in the style category.
Link each process to its corresponding zoneImportant note:
when creating a new style category, you must first add the zones, then add the style category stages, and then link each stage to its corresponding zone.
Stage 2 : The Style
When creating a new style in the usual way, you'll find a new Zones section displaying the zones created in the style category. Map each zone to its location on the style image.
Link each zone to its designated position on the style image.then press Next, the system automatically links all operations to their quality zones. If any stages remain unmapped, you'll be prompted to assign them manually.
Automatically link processes to quality zonesAdding a Custom Zone
If a specific style needs a zone that isn't in the style category, you can add a custom zone exclusive to that style through the "Add Custom Zone" field during style creation.
Add a custom zoneIn the style page, you can generate a style image using AI based on the style's stages, producing front and back views of the style. This image is then used in the zones section instead of the default image. You can also upload a PDF file containing the style image.
This step is required to start using the regions feature, and you will not be able to use it without completing it.
AI SketchOn the Quality Tablet
Once setup is complete, the quality worker sees the style image on the tablet with all zones marked on it. They select the zone where a defect was found and record it directly. (Soon).
