We are proud to introduce the Packing Module — a new addition to the Garment IO Production System designed to help factories organize and monitor the final step of production with better accuracy, accountability, and visibility.
The Packing Module aims to give factories a clear understanding of:
How many boxes were packed
Who packed them
Packing is the final checkpoint before finished products are shipped to customers.
It affects:
Delivery accuracy — ensuring each box matches the client’s packing rules.
Traceability — knowing exactly who packed what and when.
Accountability — holding workers responsible for errors or shortages.
Productivity analysis — identifying bottlenecks and improving efficiency in the packing section.
Until now, most factories relied on manual tracking or Excel sheets to manage packing.
The Garment IO Packing Module automates this process — making packing visible, trackable, and auditable directly from the production system.
The module focuses on recording the number of boxes packed and by whom.
Key highlights:
It tracks packing only when a box is completed and closed.
It helps production management verify that the right quantities, assortments, and users are recorded for every box.
This foundation ensures that all factories can start gathering accurate packing data before moving into detailed performance tracking.
To help you get started, Packing module is divided into three user-specific articles:
Workstation Types & Setup: https://garmentio.zohodesk.com/portal/en/kb/articles/packing-module-phase-1-introducing-workstations
Audience: System Admins, Line Supervisors, and Production Managers
Learn how to define packing stations (workstations) and organize them across sections.
Packing Rules & Assortments: https://garmentio.zohodesk.com/portal/en/kb/articles/packing-module-phase-1-introducing-packing-rules
Audience: Industrial Engineers with the Planning Department
Learn how to create packing rules and define the color–size matrix for each production order.
Packer Tablet: https://garmentio.zohodesk.com/portal/en/kb/articles/packing-module-phase-1-packer-tablet
Audience: Packers
Learn how to use the tablet to view ready orders, follow packing rules, and close boxes correctly.
(Note: The fourth article about Packing Reports is still under development.)
In the near future, managers will be able to:
Monitor packing progress from the Order Report
Export Packing Lists directly from the system
We welcome your feedback and suggestions to shape the next generation of packing solutions.
