Adding Batches to Orders

Adding Batches to Orders

In order to efficiently track production processes, it is essential to add batches to orders. This user guide explains how to create batches for orders, whether you have the cutting module enabled for bulk batches generation or not. Additionally, it covers how to assign RFID tags to batches, make bulk changes, print batch cards, and manage batch groups. Please follow the instructions that correspond to your system setup and process requirements.

Adding Batches with Cutting Module Enabled

Bulk Batches Generation

  1. If the cutting module is enabled in your system, you can add batches using the bulk batches generation feature.
  2. This process is typically initiated from within the cutting module interface.
  3.  For bulk batches generation, please refer to the cutting module's user guide

Adding Batches without Cutting Module

Accessing Batches Page

  1. Navigate to the Production Order List in the Production Report.
  2. Right-click on the desired production order and select Batches.
  3. A new tab will open for the batches page specific to this order.

Adding Single Batch

  1. Click on Add Batch.
  2. A new batch will be generated automatically.
  3. Modify the cutting order number if necessary.
  4. Fill in the batch number, color, sizes, and quantity as per the production requirements.

Adding Multiple Batches

  1. Click on Add Batches.
  2. Specify the quantities for each batch and the maximum quantity allowed per batch.
  3. Choose the numbering rules based on your production needs:
    1. Reset after each color
    2. Reset after each size
    3. Never reset
  4. The system uses the required quantity from the production order report, along with size and color details, to intelligently create batches.

Assigning RFID Tags

  1. Filter and select the batches to which you want to assign RFID tags.
  2. Using an RFID scanner connected to the computer, scan the RFID cards.
  3. Scanned tags will automatically associate with the selected batches.

Making Bulk Changes to Batches

  1. Select the batches you wish to edit.
  2. Click on Edit Selected.
  3. Make the necessary changes to size, color, quantity, or cutting order in one action.

Printing Batch Cards

  1. Select the batches you need to print cards for.
  2. Click on Print Batches.
  3. Choose the cutting order and specify the range (from and to).
  4. Confirm and print the batch cards on A4 paper, cut them out, and attach them to the corresponding batches on the factory floor.

Factory-Specific Batch Quantities

In manufacturing, the concept of batch quantities and batch groups is critical for optimizing the production process. Different stages of production can handle different quantities of items efficiently. By adjusting batch sizes according to the production stage, factories can improve throughput, manage work-in-progress inventory more effectively, and respond to issues with greater agility.

In a garment manufacturing process, an initial large batch of 60 might be used for the cutting stage, where fabric can be cut en masse efficiently. As the garments move to the sewing stage for intricate work like adding zippers or buttons, this large batch could be divided into smaller batches of 15 to ensure each item is given careful attention, minimizing the chance of errors and allowing for detailed quality checks.

Managing Batch Groups

  1. Creating Batch Groups
  2. Select the batches you want to group.
  3. Click on Create Batch Group for grouping selected batches individually.

Bulk Grouping

  1. To group all batches at once, click on Group All.
  2. The system will prompt you for grouping rules.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can successfully add batches to orders, manage RFID tags, make bulk changes, print batch cards, and create batch groups. This will help streamline production tracking and operations within your factory. Always refer to your specific system documentation for any additional features or steps that may apply to your setup.
