Understanding Gantt Chart

Understanding Gantt Chart

We are excited to introduce a powerful new feature that allows factories to quantitatively evaluate line performance/order performance.
The Gantt Chart appears in a shape of a table and a graph, the graph is a visual representation to the productivity and the activity of the production sections and Production orders against a time scale, that shows when did the order start and when did it end or is planned to end and also showing the time taken to finish the order. Also, it shows the data for only a week.

Permission Control

To be able to use this new update on the system, you have to make sure that you are granted the new permission created to production planning by following those steps:
  1. Go to Garment IO system
  2. Go to Configuration
  3. Then click on System Configuration
  4. Then Navigate to Roles
  5. Check who exactly you want to grant the permission to from the "Company Roles", then click on the edit button
  6. it will open the permissions page for that Role, Go to the "Planning Department" and check the "Production Planning" Permission.
  7. You will notice that this new update has 2 types of permissions which are view or edit.
    1. View permission: gives you the permission to view the Gantt chart only without editing anything in it
    2. Edit permission: Gives you the permission to view and edit the Gantt chart.

The table contains the following data:

  1.  Production line Details:   The report begins by listing the names of the production lines who were active during the selected period. This information helps identify production lines and track their performance over time. Also, there is a drop down menu underneath it. Once you click on it shows you all the orders that are active or planned to be working on this production line.
    1. If you right click on the order name, a drop down list would appear. This drop down list has the following pages:
      1. Production Order planning page.
      2. Production Order Report page.
      3. Production Order Costing Report page.
      4. Batches Page.
      5. Batches History Page.
When you click on any of the mentioned pages, it would navigate you to it, and would open automatically on the details of the certain production order that was selected on the Gantt chart.

  1. Required Quantity: This metric shows the required quantity to be produced for the following production orders. This is derived from the production order plan. Also, you can edit it in the Gantt chart if you have the permission to edit
  2. Hourly Productivity: This metric shows the quantity produced each hour. This data is derived from the production order plan. Also, you can edit this from the Gantt chart if you have the permission to edit.
  3. The start and end date: This metric shows when the production order is set to start working and when it is supposed to end. This is also derived from the production order plan. Also, you can edit this from the Gantt chart if you have the permission to edit.
  4.  Time for first delivery of a batch: This metric shows the time needed in minutes to deliver the first batch in a production order that is assigned to a production line. This data is also derived from the production order plan. Also, you can edit this from the Gantt chart if you have the permission to edit.
  5. Shifts: This metric shows the shift/s that the production order is assigned to work in. Also, you can edit this from the Gantt chart if you have the permission to edit.
  6. Duration: This metric shows the total time taken to finish the production order. this is calculated by taking into consideration the start date, the end date and shifts.

Order Status:

In the Gantt chart you will notice that the orders have different colors, each color signify a different order status which are:
  1. Not Ready: this status has a Grey color, which signifies that this order has no batches that are inline or finished, and it hasn't finished at least one batch in the previous production line.
  2. Feeding: this status has dark blue color, which signifies that this order has no batches that are inline or finished. However, it has finished at least one batch in the previous section and it is ready to be fed in this production line.
  3. Charging: this status has a light blue color, which signifies that this order has a mix of in-feeding and inline batches, which means that not all processes have been completed on at least one of the batches.
  4.  Inline: this status has a yellow color, which signifies that this order has at least one of the batches that is completed and this production line still has in-feeding batches to be worked on.
  5. Finishing: this status has a orange color, which signifies that this order has at least one of the batches that is completed. However,  this production line doesn't have any in-feeding batches to be worked on.
  6. Finished: this status has a green colorwhich signifies that this order has completed all it's batches in this production line.
