How to long term plan order?

In the Garment IO system, planning the production order plays a crucial role in optimizing resources, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring a smooth production process. This chapter will guide you through the steps involved in planning a production order for long term

Step 1: Accessing Production Order Planning:

After the order is created in our system, from the Production Order page, locate the desired production order in the PO table. Right-click on the production order and select "edit from the context menu.

Then you should click on the "Edit Long term plan" or "Add long term plan". If no long term plan has been added before, then the button will be in yellow color and shows "Add long term plan". If the order has a plan already set and the user wishes to change it then the button will be shows in green color and the text is "Edit Long term plan"

Step 2: Setting first available production date and delivery date

In the PO planning page,  it is crucial for users to establish two key dates that serve as the temporal boundaries for order planning, particularly for medium and short-term scheduling:
  1. Start Date: Users must specify the earliest date that the order can start on. The first date where the fabrics are ready to be cut. Thus, this is the earliest date that can be added.
  2. Delivery Date: Users are also required to set the delivery date by which the client is awaiting the order and we have to ensure that the order must be finished before that delivery date.
By setting these dates, users can effectively manage and streamline the production workflow, ensuring that each phase of the order planning is executed within the defined timeframes, from the initial fabric preparation to the final delivery to the client.

Step 3: Assigning Sections to Stages:

To effectively plan the production process, you can assign sections to stages. This allocation of resources allows you to streamline the workflow and ensure efficient utilization of available resources. The user should add the group of sections that this order can work on so the planning module can choose at least one of these sections to plan orders on that section according to the highest efficiency section available.

By utilizing the functionalities provided on the production planning page, you can effectively allocate resources, estimate throughput and dates, and assign machines to each process within the production order. This ensures optimal planning, increased efficiency, and the successful completion of production orders within the Garment IO system.
