🔐 System Configurations | User Management and Permissions
Giving every user broad access risked exposing sensitive data, while restricting access carelessly got in the way of supervisors doing their daily jobs.
That changes now.
You can now add each user with their own role and permissions, and define their access scope precisely based on their actual responsibilities on the factory floor. To access the page: System Settings → Users.
How Does the System Work?
1. Adding a New User
Go to the Human Resources section, then open the Users page and click the "+" button to add a new user.
- Enter the first name and last name. You can also add the user's name in a secondary language so it appears when the system language is changed.
- Enter the date of birth.
- Enter the phone number.
B. Hiring Details
- Enter the user code and fingerprint code.
- Select the hiring date.
- Assign the user roles and select the primary role: Choose the appropriate role for each user, as the selected role automatically configures permissions and access levels within the system according to their responsibilities.
You can review the Roles Management guide to understand different roles and their responsibilities within the factory.RFID Card Assignment for Faster Login
To simplify login for Quality Supervisors and Maintenance Employees using system devices or tablets with RFID readers: Click "There is No Card" then Scan the RFID card using the connected card reader. The card number can also be entered manually; however, manual entry is not recommended as it may lead to errors.
Maintenance Supervisors must have an RFID card assigned to them, as it is required for scanning on the device while checking machine breakdowns.
C. System Access Details
Enter the email address and create a password for login, the password must meet the following requirements:
- At least 8 characters.
- At least one special character.
- At least one Arabic or English letter.
- At least one number.
D. Define Access Scope
The access scope determines which data the user can view inside the system and includes four levels:
- Company Scope: Provides access to all factories and is suitable for users managing multiple factories or operations.
- Factory Scope: Provides access to all production lines and departments within one factory only.
- Production Line Scope: Restricts access to a specific production line only.
- Sector Scope: The most restricted level, commonly used for Maintenance Supervisors, where notifications are received only for machine issues within their assigned sectors.
Any production line or department not assigned to the user's scope will not appear in the system, preventing access to unauthorized information.
E. Add Salary Details
Go to Salary Details, then click Add New Daily Wage, and enter the user's daily wage value.
The daily wage value should be updated monthly based on the employee’s monthly salary to ensure accurate cost reports within the system.
2. Editing Users
From the same page, users with the required permissions can edit any user's information.
📖 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- What's the difference between production line scope and department scope?
Production line scope grants access to all departments on that line, while department scope restricts access to a single department even if other departments belong to the same line. - Can one user access more than one factory?
Yes, if they're assigned company scope, they can view data across all factories under that company. - Is an RFID card optional for all users?
It's optional in general, but mandatory for maintenance supervisors since it's required when inspecting machine breakdowns. - What happens if I enter the RFID number manually instead of scanning?
It's possible, but more error-prone than scanning directly, and only recommended when necessary.
