How to add a reason an idle time request
Introduction
Idle time refers to the period when a worker is not busy operating machinery but is not due to a machine malfunction. This can be caused by feeding problems or when a worker is waiting to find work to do. In such cases, workers make requests for downtime and supervisors need to accept or deny the request while providing a reason for the downtime. This chapter walks you through the process of adding downtime causes and configuring their settings within the Garment IO system.
Access to downtime reasons:
To add downtime reasons, follow these steps:
- Go to Production Settings > Downtime Reasons.
- On the Downtime Reasons page, click the “+” button to add a new downtime reason.
Add a reason for an idle time request
When adding a reason for idle time, you must provide specific information. Follow these instructions:
- Enter the downtime reason code and name.
- Determine who the primary responsible party is for the reason for the idle time. You can choose from options such as Admin, Worker, or others.
- Optionally, you can set one of the idle time reasons as the default. This reason will default automatically if the supervisor does not provide a reason for the downtime request.
By defining and adding downtime reasons within the system, administrators are able to easily choose from a pre-defined list when accepting or rejecting downtime requests. This helps maintain a record of downtime and provides insights into the causes of downtime periods
