Understanding Smart Process Recommendations

Understanding Smart Process Recommendations

Overview

Smart Process Recommendations is an advanced feature designed to assist supervisors, quality control teams, and production teams by providing intelligent recommendations for adding missing processes. The system leverages historical data to recommend process completions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is used for decision-making.

Feature Description

Intelligent Process Recommendations

In the previous versions of our system, users were required to manually input a time range and then select the corresponding employee. This process would sometimes lead to inconsistencies in the data, as it could recommend employees who weren't logged into the machine at the time, or allow users to manipulate data unfairly.

The upgraded system introduces advanced logic that can recommend missing processes based on a historical record of employees who have performed the process before and were logged into the machine at that time. If the system cannot make a recommendation, it indicates that the specific style has never undergone this process before on any GARMENT IO device. At least one instance of each process must be recorded on the device to enable future recommendations.

Priority for Adding Manual/Web Production Processes

When adding manual or web-based production processes, the system follows these priority rules:

  1. Nearest Production Process in the Same Section: The system first attempts to add the process to the closest production process within the same section as the parent process.
  2. Search in Other Sections: If no suitable process is found in the same section, the system expands the search to other sections.
  3. Search After the Child Process Time: If the process is still not found, the system considers adding it after the child process time.

A web beat can only fail to be added if the process has never been executed before.

Streamlined Manual Operations

On the batches page, users can select 'manual operation'. The employee dropdown list is already populated with a timestamp corresponding to the last process that the employee completed for the same style and process. This ensures the system is certain that the worker was logged into the machine at that time, preventing data manipulation.

Enhanced Quality Control

On the station inspection page, if the system can recommend all processes, the page will be automatically populated by the employees and their timestamps. The user then simply needs to click 'confirm'.

Quality stations that depend on processes from another section have been enhanced. If there are missing processes outside of the station's scope, a disclaimer will be displayed at the top of the page. This allows users to identify missing processes at the start of production, rather than at the final station, saving time and reducing costs.

If the system finds missing processes outside the station scope, it will recommend workers for these processes as usual. If the system cannot make a recommendation, the batch must be returned to the previous section, as the process must have been completed at least once on a GARMENT IO device for the system to be able to recommend it.

Conclusion

While the Smart Process Recommendations feature may seem complex initially, it offers substantial benefits by reducing time and minimizing the need to return batches from the end of the production line due to a missed process at the start. This feature provides a smarter, more efficient approach to streamline your workflow.
