Introducing “Set Today’s Target” in the AI Tool

Overview

The Garment IO AI Tool now includes a powerful feature: "Set Today’s Target", designed to help production teams define realistic and achievable daily targets. This page enables users to set planned production goals based on employee availability, past efficiencies, and expected performance.

How to Use "Set Today’s Target"

Step 1: Select the Date

  • The system prompts you to choose a date for which you want to set planned targets.
  • This can be today or any future date if you’re planning ahead.

Step 2: Choose Performance Mode

The AI tool estimates realistic and achievable targets based on employees' historical performance. You have two options:

  • Average Performance – Uses the average efficiencies of employees in each section and on each style over the past 30 working days.
  • Best Performance (Recommended) – Provides a slight challenge by encouraging employees to work faster. It considers the top 50% of employees' efficiencies instead of the full average.

Step 3: Define the Target Scope

  • Choose whether to set targets per line, per section, or for both.
  • Enable the "Final Lines Only" checkbox if you only want to set targets for final lines.

⚠ Important: Before using AI-generated targets, ensure the Operations Engineer is aware of this process.

Step 4: Generate and Review Targets

Click on "Set Today’s Target" and a detailed table will appear with the following fields

Line/SectionThe production line or section where the order is assigned.
Order NumberThe number of the order currently in production.
Style InfoDetails of the style being produced.
Estimated QuantityThe target quantity estimated by the AI model based on available employees and their efficiencies.
Approved QuantityThe number of pieces approved by the user (editable if adjustments are needed).
ActualThe actual production achieved on the selected date for the specific order in the section/line.
EmployeesThe number of employees logged in and working in that section/line.
EfficiencyThe average efficiency based on the selected performance mode.
Remaining PiecesThe number of pieces left to be produced for that order.
Ready for InlineThe number of pieces in-feeding and ready to enter the production line.
InlineThe number of pieces currently inside the section.
Percentage Finished      The percentage of pieces completed out of the total cut quantity.

Final Step: Approving the Targets

  • After reviewing the approved targets, click "Approve Targets" to finalize them.
  • Once approved, the targets will be updated in the system and visible in:
    ✅ Supervisor App
    ✅ Dashboards
    ✅ Line Performance Cards
