This guide explains how to enable the cutting feature from the factory settings, configure its additional settings, and link it to model material types.

Enabling the Cutting Feature

To enable the cutting module in the system, follow these steps in the factory settings:

  • Go to Settings, then factory Settings, then Factory, then Edit Factory.
  • Click "Enable Cutting."

Additional Configuration Settings

Minimum tolerance quantity in cutting: When dealing with small quantities, applying the standard tolerance percentage produces exaggerated and unrealistic results. Therefore, a new field has been added called “Maximum threshold for starting cutting”, with a default value of 50 pieces:
  1. If the quantity is 50 pieces or less, the system automatically ignores the tolerance percentage.
  2. If the quantity exceeds 50 pieces, the system applies the tolerance percentage as usual.

Linking Material Types to Models

The cutting application also includes the option to specify different material types for different models. You can assign a material type to each model, and when adding a new fabric roll to the system, you can specify its material type.

For more details on adding material types to models, please refer to fabric types management article.

Why Enable the Cutting Feature?

Enabling the cutting feature lets you speed up the cutting process, improve accuracy, and manage material types more efficiently within the system.

AlertNote: before enabling the cutting feature, it's best to contact a Garment IO representative or staff member. They can provide guidance and assistance in enabling the feature based on your needs and workflow, ensuring a smooth transition and effective use of the cutting feature in your manufacturing process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  • What happens if a roll's length is below the specified minimum?
The system automatically logs it as a used roll that can't be reused.
  • Can the material type be set separately for each model?
Yes, you can assign a material type to each model, and specify the material type for each new roll added to the system.
  • Is it recommended to enable the cutting feature without contacting Garment IO?
It's best to contact a Garment IO representative or staff member before enabling it, to get the right guidance based on your needs and workflow.
  • What's the purpose of setting the marker allowance unit?
It defines the unit of measurement used for markers within the system.
