In order to efficiently track production processes, it is essential to add batches to production orders. This guide explains how to add batches, whether or not the cutting module is enabled in your system, along with how to assign RFID tags to batches, make bulk changes, print batch cards, and manage batch groups.
Adding Batches with the Cutting Module Enabled
If the cutting module is enabled in your system, you can add batches using the bulk batches generation feature, which is typically initiated from within the cutting module interface itself. For more details on bulk batches generation, refer to the cutting module's user guide.
Adding Batches Without the Cutting Module
Accessing the Batches Page
- Navigate to the Production Order List in the Production Report.
- Right-click on the desired production order and select "Batches."
- A new page will open for the batches specific to this order.
Adding a Single Batch
- Click "Add Batch."
- A new batch will be generated automatically.
- Modify the cutting order number if necessary.
- Fill in the batch number, color, size, and quantity according to the production requirements.
Adding Multiple Batches
- Click "Add Batches."
- Specify the quantity per batch and the maximum quantity allowed per batch.
- Choose the numbering rule that fits your production needs: reset after each color, reset after each size, or never reset.
- The system uses the required quantity from the production order report, along with the size and color details, to intelligently generate the batches.
Assigning RFID Tags
- Filter and select the batches you want to assign RFID tags to.
- Click "Select Cards" and choose the number of cards needed per batch.
- Using an RFID scanner connected to the computer, scan the RFID cards.
- The scanned tags will automatically link to the selected batches.
Making Bulk Changes to Batches
- Select the batches you want to edit.
- Click "Edit Selected."
- Make the necessary changes to size, color, quantity, or cutting order in a single action.
Printing Batch Cards
- Click "Print Batches" below the table.
- Choose the cutting order and specify the range (from and to).
- Confirm and print the batch cards on A4 paper, cut them out, and attach them to the corresponding batches on the factory floor.
Factory-Specific Batch Quantities
In manufacturing, the concept of batch quantities and batch groups is critical for optimizing the production process, since different production stages can handle different quantities of pieces efficiently. By adjusting batch size to fit each production stage, factories can improve throughput, manage work-in-progress inventory more effectively, and respond to issues with greater agility.
For example, an initial large batch of 60 pieces can be used for the cutting stage, where fabric can be cut en masse efficiently. As the pieces move to the sewing stage for intricate work like adding zippers or buttons, this large batch can be split into smaller batches of 15 pieces to ensure each piece gets careful attention, reducing the chance of errors and allowing for detailed quality checks. A user can therefore add batches of 15 pieces, then later merge some of them into a batch group of 60 pieces.
Creating Batch Groups
- Select the batches you want to group.
- Click "Create Batch Group" to group the selected batches manually.
Grouping All Batches at Once
- To group all batches at once, click "Group All."
- The system will prompt you to specify the grouping rules.
By following these steps, you can successfully add batches to orders, manage RFID tags, make bulk changes, print batch cards, and create batch groups, helping streamline production tracking and operations within your factory.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
- Can batches be added automatically instead of entering them manually?
Yes, if the cutting module is enabled in your system, you can generate batches in bulk directly from within the cutting module interface.
- What's the difference between "Add Batch" and "Add Batches"?
"Add Batch" creates a single batch whose details you enter manually, while "Add Batches" creates several batches at once based on the required quantity and the numbering rule you choose.
- What numbering rules are available when adding multiple batches?
You can reset numbering after each color, after each size, or never reset it.
- How are RFID tags assigned to batches?
By selecting the batches, choosing the number of cards per batch, then scanning the RFID cards with a scanner connected to the computer, which links the tags automatically to the selected batches.
- Can multiple batches be edited at once?
Yes, by selecting them and clicking "Edit Selected," you can change the size, color, quantity, or cutting order for all of them in a single action.
- Why is a large batch split into smaller batches during production?
Because different production stages handle different quantities efficiently; a large batch suits the cutting stage, while intricate sewing work needs smaller batches for accuracy and fewer errors.
- How can I merge several small batches into one group?
By selecting the batches and clicking "Create Batch Group," or using "Group All" to group all of them at once according to the grouping rules the system prompts for.
