Adding Cutting Orders

Adding Cutting Orders

Cutting orders play a crucial role in garment production, as different production orders may require different, and sometimes more than one, cutting order. The Garment IO system lets you add and manage cutting orders efficiently. This article explains the steps for adding a cutting order and its associated codes.

How to Add a Cutting Order:

  • Go to the Cutting Orders page (Cutting Management > Cutting Orders).
  • To add a cutting order, click the "+" (Add) button.
Add Cutting Order
  • Select the production order for which you want to create a cutting order (if you are adding the cutting order through Cutting Management rather than from a specific production order).
  • Choose the marker to be used for the cutting order.
Select the production order
  • Select the fabrics to be used (fabrics with the same customer, color, and fabric type are shown by default; you can show all colors and fabric types by clicking the "Show All Colors" / "Show All Fabric Types" buttons).
  • Add fabrics by clicking the "[>]" button, or add all fabrics in the list by clicking the "[>>]" button (to remove selected fabrics, use the "[<]" or "[<<]" buttons).
Add Rolls
  • After selecting the desired fabrics, specify the color of each fabric (used to calculate the output pieces for that color).
  • Choose the number of layers for each fabric (you can add one additional layer beyond the maximum number allowed).
  • You cannot enter an odd number of layers if the marker is "Double" and the marker contains an odd number of pieces, since a complete number of pieces must be cut.
  • Click "Confirm" to add the cutting order, or "Confirm and Add Packs" to add the cutting order and automatically create packs according to the selected assembly rules.

Opening a Cutting Order from the Production Orders Page:

There is also another way to open cutting orders, directly from the Production Orders page. Simply follow these steps:

  • Go to the Production section.
  • Go to the Production Orders page.
  • Go to the production order you want to add a cutting order to.
  • Right-click it to open a side menu, then select "Cutting Orders".
  • Clicking "Cutting Orders" opens the Cutting Orders page, where you can add a new cutting order or edit an existing one.
  • You can add a cutting order by following the same steps described earlier in "How to Add a Cutting Order".

Calculations Performed When Each Fabric Is Added:

  • Fabric length (if the fabric is entered by weight): (Fabric Weight × 1000) / ((Square Meter Weight) × (Fabric Width / 100)).
  • Maximum number of layers for each fabric: Fabric Length / (Marker Length + Allowance in meters).
  • Used balance (length): Number of used layers × (Marker Length + Allowance in meters).
  • Estimated number of pieces to be cut for each color and size: Number of layers for all fabrics of that color × Number of pieces in the marker for that size.
    • If the marker is "Double", the number of pieces is divided by 2.
    • If the fabric is "Closed", the number of pieces is multiplied by 2.

The user can check the estimated number of pieces to be cut for each color and size by clicking the "Estimated Cutting Quantity" field. A table appears showing the estimated number of pieces for each color and size, with the cutting order displayed in green.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  • Can a single cutting order be added to more than one production order?

No, each cutting order is linked to a single production order, although the same production order may need more than one cutting order depending on the number of fabrics and colors involved.

  • What is the difference between "Assembly Started" and "Production Started"?

"Assembly Started" appears as soon as the first pack is created from the cutting order, while "Production Started" appears once the first actual production operation has been performed on the cutting order's pieces.

  • Can I edit a cutting order after adding it?

Yes, you can edit a cutting order as long as no pack has been created for it, and as long as you have "Edit" permission for cutting orders.

  • Why can't I delete a certain cutting order?

A cutting order cannot be deleted if at least one pack has already been created from it. You must also have the appropriate "Delete" permission for cutting orders.
